This time next week we'll all have an accurate chance to work out what state our squad is in. By then I might agree with you. Right now it just seems irrelevant.

If Alex V agrees with your post you must know it's wrong.

We're currently lining up without a striker aren't we?

We just lost to two absolute shit teams at home.

Our club is a fucking shambles.

Our club is on the right track

Thats the spirit...

The reality is we are somewhere between the team that beat Arsenal, and the one that was beaten last week...

I get what you are saying which is "wait and see". I suppose the last window and continually having holes in the team and / or squad (RB, LB, CBs, Strikers, Wide midfield) down the years and the fact we never seem to fill them is what has some of us concerned. I genuinely hope these next 4 days that we bring in a striker, a wide man or two and back up at RB and these players are of decent quality. :-)

Re: Our club is on the right track
How can our squad be strong? Weve just let someone go who started last Saturday. Think about it. We were so desperate for players a few days ago that we picked someone who we were prepared to pay over £1 million to leave.

Look at our bench for the last two games. Our club is in a mess, I know this because I've seen us in a mess before and this looks like the same. And before someone who watches us on a stream every week comes along and tells me to get behind the club, it's worth saying that me and the people around me spend a fortune every year watching us, and the feeling of our under-investment is shared by a lot of them.

Re: Our club is on the right track
The whole OP is defeatist, not positive. Look at the way it ends, 'secure our premier league status'. There's nothing positive about that, it is an attitude that sees a club of our size dream small and aim for the dizzy heights of non-descript teams with half our weekly attendance.

Re: Our club is on the right track
I got no issue with someone saying 'yes things don't look good but let's just get on with it and support the team'
But anyone claiming we won't get relegated seems to have blocked out the events of 2003,
We could easily go down this season
Claiming everything is fine, just encourages Gold & Sullivan to carry on playing it tight
They need a kick up the ass not a fucking tongue!

Why is it so hard to fathom out...

WE ARE MEDIOCRE!!!

There are better squads than ours.....there are worse squads than ours..

Boots in my list of people to scroll straight past when posting.

There's a few on here lately who have nothing good to say ever. Just constant negative spins on everything.

Known as SCROLL JOBS.

Got to admit this season start I am in your list of Scroll Jobs :-)

Someone needs to convince me or give the reasons why our team that has won 5 or so from its last 30 games (if you include the Europa) and has spent less than 20 million and brought in 3 first team starters and let 2 go (admittedly only Downing a loss) and has a new manager and trying to play a pass and move game with largely the same players will not struggle this season?

Well Ok, I will take AlexV's advice, I will park this question for 96 hours until after this week's game (we might see some tactical adjustments that transform us or show we will be really effective away from home) and the transfer window has shut.

:-)

Re: Our club is on the right track
Yes, I do Sir Alf......hence the reason we finished midtable last season..

Do we need to improve? Of course we do....as do all teams. You should never stand still. So we obviously need to add players, preferebly this transfer window, if not the January one

Sunderland, Norwich, West Brom, Bournmouth, Villa, Watford Have worse squads than us.

Crystal Palace, Southampton ,Stoke, Swansea have slightly better squads...but they aren't head and shoulders above us.

Let’s all have some bollocks, and stop panicking . Though It's understandable I suppose, as in the past we've suffered a lot of shit. However, I do think long term we are heading in the right direction, even though in typical West Ham style, things aren’t running as smoothly as we’d like.

Re: Our club is on the right track
This eternal. Optimism is based on what ?

This is West Ham, we have had decades of this

We all knew deep in our hearts that after beating the goons away we would lose to Leicester at home

We are cursed I tell ya!

You just know we are fucked when someone says Crystal Palace have a better squad than us. And thinks it's OK.!

Re: Our club is on the right track
One big plus is that Nolan can never be picked again as a starter or substitute. Nobody can think 'well such and such is injured and Kev's on 99 league goals and trains like a man possessed. Let's put him in the side on Saturday- I can see a fairy story coming' and we start a man down as we've seen on about 30 ocassions now.

It's a bonus to start a game with 11 players and I suppose is a start.

We're on the right track all right. Trouble is they keep putting out the retractable seating and we trip over it time after time...

fair play to you mate. I will try to get me chin up but having lived through 4 relegations since 1978 and most seasons either worrying about relegation or bouncing down and up a division, I saw signs in the last 2 games of the same.

Only winning 4 games from 24 is probably what has me worried. We need to break out of that pattern or we will struggle big time.
